PRESS RELEASES A4 SYSTEMS
CALGARY, Alberta - May 15, 2019
A4 Systems Introduces A4.EYE: Surveillance System Infused with Artificial Intelligence
The new A4.EYE aims to advance workflow efficiencies in the industrial sector through Artificial Intelligence infused surveillance technology.
A4 Systems introduces A4.EYE to the world — a smart camera system to revolutionize surveillance processes in the industrial sector. It combines both high definition cameras and Artificial Intelligence (AI) infused software to capture, filter, and present only important footage to the user. Ultimately, the system raises the standard of workflow efficiency in security and/or asset monitoring processes across any industrial company.
Beyond Traditional Surveillance
A4.EYE technology innovates beyond traditional surveillance camera systems to align itself within the ongoing Industry 4.0. Through Artificial Intelligence, the device detects human and vehicle activity within its field of view, analyzes the footage at the edge, and aggregates only the relevant footage to an online software portal (SQC - Site Quality Control). Users can then seamlessly browse through footage where human movement occured, drastically decreasing the time spent digging through hours of irrelevant footage to find one specific event.
The SQC interface also gives users access to multiple parameters to configure the A4.EYE to their specific company needs. Alert configuration determines the thresholds at which email and SMS alerts are sent (ie. human or vehicle movement at a certain time), and who they are sent to. Alerts are sent in real-time so that immediate human action can be taken where required.
Custom monitoring intervals allow users to schedule their cameras to automatically turn on and monitor at certain times during the day, as well as determine specific time-frames where alerts are enabled. This feature is especially effective on industrial sites with no human activity at certain times. It can also be used to visually monitor remote assets from anywhere, significantly reducing the costs associated with manual human inspections.
Reducing Bandwidth and Latency
A4.EYE uses advanced Edge Computing technology to clean the video footage at the device, so that only relevant data with human or vehicle activity is aggregated to SQC. Utilizing Edge Computing heavily reduces the bandwidth, and therefore the costs attached to data aggregation over a network. Lower bandwidth usage also improves the latency of data transfer allowing for real-time awareness and faster response to concerning footage.
